Grill Room and Locker Room Renovations

Completed in Spring 2022, the Men's and Ladies' Locker Rooms, Grill Room, Halfway House, Bar and Patio received a much-needed renovation! The entirety of this project was completed using capital funds, and no member assessments were made to cover the cost of this project.  

Please find highlights of the completed work below:

Men's Locker Room
- Complete renovation of wet area with new tile and fixtures.
- The locker area received new HVAC, lighting, drywall, ceiling, wall surfaces and carpeting.

Ladies Locker Room
- Increased in size to accommodate 15 new lockers and a larger and improved entrance from the Grill Room.
- Significant plumbing work addressed outdated piping with a new underground piping system.

Grill Room
- A fully equipped, U-shaped bar built in the rear section of the room.
- A fully equipped halfway house built where the previous bar stood. A large service window was installed on the parking lot side to serve walk-up patrons and the first tee.
- New coffered ceiling, lighting, carpeting and HVAC system installed.

Patio and Terrace
- New, enlarged patio and foundation.
- A covered roof to create three-season outdoor dining.
- Additional uncovered patio space (to be known as "the terrace") towards the 18th green with additional seating and fire features.

Miscellaneous
- A new, insulated roof installed over the Grill Room.
- A new roof installed on the Ballroom of the main clubhouse.
- In the wake of COVID, we have placed on emphasis on improving indoor air quality: the Pro Shop, Locker Rooms and Grill Room will benefit from new equipment that will mix and introduce outside air, which is healthier and more energy efficient.
- New ductwork was installed, including a UV system to kill bacteria and mold within the ductwork.
- A new 5-ton, roof-mounted HVAC unit installed.



In addition to the facility renovation, the club is also using capital funds to continue many golf course initiatives and improvements, which include the following:

- Restoration of green surrounds on holes 10 (Spring) & 11 (Spring), as prescribed by consulting golf course architects. These will join the previously scheduled holes of 1 & 4 (2019), 12 & 15 (2020), and 14 & 18 (2021).
- Tee leveling on the left and right tees on hole 2, front tees on holes 8 and 10 and middle tee on hole 12.
- Hole 12 stream/drainage improvements.

This is an incredibly exciting time for Bala Golf Club and we are eager to keep building on our current momentum as we enter the next phase of our storied history.
